Marquis de Montdoyen 2009 Bergerac Sec, Chateau Montdoyen

The best feature of this attractively shimmering wine, pale yellow in colour with green reflections, is its fruitiness and it is intended to be drunk young. For a wine of this price, it has an intense nose that expresses notes of exotic fruit and Muscat grapes completed by a palate of floral nuances. The rounded, fresh and lively palate is perfectly balanced. The jewel in its crown is a pleasant aftertaste with a lovely length to the fruit. This wine has an excellent balance between quality and price, and as with all our white wines, you will appreciate how easy it is to digest.

Location of Chateau Montdoyen

About Chateau Montdoyen
Jean Paul Hembise bought this beautiful property of 40 hectares on a hillside in the heart of Monbazillac, close to the Dordogne river in 1997. Since then, no expense has been spared in restoring the cellars of the château and in purchasing the most up-to-date winemaking equipment, including pneumatic presses, stainless steel tanks and new barriques. A new cooling unit has also been fitted and low density plantings have been established, similar to those in nearby St.-Emilion. Jean Paul has employed biodynamic practices in the vineyards and recruited winemaker Julien Auroux, previously of Château L’Eglise in Pomerol, to produce these great, great-value wines.
